Molly II Documentation

Because Molly is under active development, keeping up with the documentation is always a challenge. With this release (m2r10) we have improved the documentation section and have edited or re-written every MAML tag's doc page. If you are new to Molly, then you will find that you can build a fairly sophisticated dynamic web site using just the MAML tags. If you have been working with Molly for a while, MAML has come a long way and you should resist the temptation to do things in PHP as many more powerful tags than you are used to have been added over the past year.

The New MAML Reference pages contain documentation and examples of each of the MAML (and MAGE) tags in the Molly system. (This is a work in progress.) Each page has a place where registered users can add comments. (Newly registered users' comments will not appear on the page immediately.)

  • Molly now has an installer (install.php) which can be run from the command line. This greatly simplifies the setup of a typical site.

  • Installation Instructions (plain XHTML) These instructions walk you through a manual Molly installation. Start with these if you do not have Apache, PHP, or MySQL installed on your system.

  • Documentation of all defined MAML tags generated automatically from class definitions used to implement the tags. (Only works properly with PHP version 4.3 and higher.) You are probably better off using the MAML Reference (above) unless you are looking for new tags, or tags defined in add-on modules which are not yet incorporated into the MAML Reference.

Individual Webmaster Docs for each of the modules currently installed on this system are linked below. Only registered users with privileges can see these docs, but you can view them on your own Molly installation.
